Harpton Golf Club, New Radnor, Powys. (1909 - 1934)
Harpton was founded 1909, with Sir Herbert Lewis as President.
The course was laid out on fields let to the club by Mr Rice Hamer of Downton Farm, one of the thirteen original members who formed the committee.

The competition for the President's Gold Medal was played in September 1911; W Stone, 82 net; W H McKaig, 83; J Davies, 84; J Gardner, 87; Dr. Harding, 88; Colonel Heap, 91; O A Meares, 93; E J Standen, 97; Rev. T Lloyd, 98; A J McKaig, 111. The September medal was won by Colonel Heap.
The ladies' medal was played on Wednesday 1 November 1911; Miss Pemberton, 64; Miss Evelyn, 66; Miss Gwyer, 67; Miss G McKaig, 70; Miss Davies, 73; Miss Heap, 78.
In 1914 the secretary was E J Standen. A 9-hole sporting course with a club membership of 70. There was no entry fee. Subs were 10/-. Visitors’ fees were 1/- a day and 3/- a week. Sunday play was not allowed.
In 1923 and the club’s last year in 1927, the secretary was Geo Mills, Post Office, New Radnor. Telephone number 1. The greenkeeper was W Pugh. The amateur course record was held by E J Standen with a score of 74. Visitors’ fees were 1/- a day, 3/- a week and 5/- a month. New Radnor station was ½ mile away.
