The following is from the 1905 Nisbet's Golf Yearbook; Rhosneiger Golf Club - This club is free to hotel residents and open to visitors and residents in the neighbourhood. Particulars can be obtained from the Proprietor, Malloy Lake Hotel, Rhosneigr.
A nine-hole course on the Common, the Maelog Hotel was used as the clubhouse.
Miss Gladys Ravenscroft often played the course. In 1912 she won the British Ladies Amateur Championship at Turnberry, in the following year she travelled to Wilmington, Delaware and duly won the United States Ladies Amateur Championship.

The Maelog Lake club continued to the outbreak of WW2. Because of the war and growing competition from the nearby Anglesey GC, the Maelog Lake GC fell into decline.
