Course review from 1998. “The golf club name suggests it's hilly, and hilly it is - up and down - tough shots playing downhill, tough shots playing across hills. The hilly scenario provides an opportunity for water hazards too - and there are 2 lakes which impact a number of holes. The layout is quite superb and as I understand it, the next 9 holes are on their way. If I have a favourite hole - I guess its the long 3rd, par 4 - a mammoth bunker dominates the left side of the fairway, and is just in driving distance - stray and you pay! - The green is elegant - alongside a lake, and equally requires accuracy.”
Captains drive-in December 1998.
Charity event in August 1999.
In October 1999 Graham Thorogood retained his club championship title, runner-up was Adam Gumble. Gemme Easton, daughter of the club professional, Craig, won the ladies’ championship, runner-up was Jan Kirkland.
