Carswell Golf and Country Club, Faringdon. (1993 – 2019)

In 1998 it was listed as an 18-hole parkland course designed by Ely Brothers, 6,133 yards, SSS 70; professional Geoff Robbins; visitors, £13 weekday, £18 weekend.

In 2004 the professional was Steve Parker; visitors, £18, £25.

In the later 200s the membership was 500; professional, John Strode.

Thanks to Richard Anderson who supplied the following information; “The course lay to the south of the A420 east of Faringdon. Although mostly flat, there was a good loop of holes at 5th to 8th with banks of gorse in the rough, and a couple of holes had water hazards. The course was remote from any large conurbations and like some other recent closures, remote location may have been a contributory factor to the financial difficulties.”

The loss-making club closed in September 2019.
