Middleton-in-Teesdale Golf Club, Durham. (1908 - 1920s)

The club first appeared 1908.

It was reported in the Sheffield Daily Telegraph in February 1908 that construction had started on a nine-hole golf course at Middleton-in-Teesdale, the links were in a most accessible district. 

The nine-hole course opened on August 10th 1910.

In 1914 the secretary was Alfred Howe, Rock, Villa, Middleton-in-Teesdale. A 9-hole course situated on the moor. The club had a membership of 30. The entry fee was 5/- and the subs 15/-. Visitors’ fees were 1/- a day and 4/- a week. Sunday play was allowed without caddies. The railway station was ¼ mile away.

Adverts for the golf course appeared until the outbreak of WW1.
