Londesborough Park Golf Club, Market Weighton, Yorks. (1905 - 1951)
Founded 1905 when the part time professional was Arthur Dell.
The course was designed by Harry Vardon and laid out in the picturesque Londesborough Park.
In April 1911 a team of four from Hull visited Londesborough Park.

In 1914 the secretary was F E Young. A 9 hole course with a membership of 50. Subs were £1/1/0. Visitors’ fees were 1/- a day. Sunday play was not allowed.

In 1923 the secretary was the Reverend A G Bagshaw. The greenkeeper was W Dorsey. A membership of 60. Visitors fees were now 3/6 a day for gents and 2/6 for ladies, 10/- a week and £1/1/0 a month. The station at Market Weighton was about 3 miles away.
In the late 1920s the secretary was J F Lyon, "Claremont", Market Weighton and the greenkeeper T Dorsey. Membership of 140.
In 1940 and 1947 the secretary was W M Fishburn, “Cringles” Market Weighton, telephone 11. The professional and greenkeeper was T Dorsey. The 9 hole course had a SSS of 70 a Par of 66 and a membership of 120. Visitors’ fees were 2/- a day, 3/- on Sunday.
1951 and the secretary was M C Bowman, York County Saving Bank, Market Weighton, telephone 2233. The greenkeeper was ? Atkinson. 9 holes with a much reduced membership of 50. Visitors fees were now 3/- a day, 2/- a round after 2pm and 7/6 a week. Sunday play was allowed. Local hotel was the Londesborough Arms.
The golf club disappeared soon after the above date. Ironically the clubhouse, although in a total state of disrepair in later years, was finally demolished in what would have been the club's centenary year.
