Great Harwood Golf Club, Clinkham Road Course. (1896 - 1927)
Founded in 1896.
The original nine-hole course was situated on land at Belmont with part of the farm buildings being used as a clubhouse.

From the 1905 Nisbet’s Golf Yearbook; Membership of 70; Station – Great Harwood, half a mile; Hon. Secs. – J Pollett, L & T Bank, Great Harwood, and P Haworth, Palatine Buildings, Great Harwood; Captain – Dr B Stahlknecht; Entrance fee nil and subs £1; Nine-holes; Amateur Records – P Haworth, J Whinsarrth, B Stahlknecht, 38 for nine-holes; Terms for visitors 2s/6d a week. The course is situated on moorland at Belmont. The principal hazards are stone walls, ditches, hedges, and a disused quarry. The length of holes varies from 140 to 400 yards. Hotels; White Bull and Old Bull, Blackburn.
