Seasalter Golf Club, Whitstable, Kent. (1911 - 1930s)

Founded in 1911.

In 1914 the secretary was A J Wilson, Thorpe House, Whitstable. A 9-hole course with a membership of 108. There was no entry fee. Subs for gents were £1/1/0, Ladies 15/-. Visitors’ fees were 1/- a day, 5/- a week and 12/- a month. Sunday play was allowed with caddies.

In 1923 the secretary was P G Edmonson. The professional was A Darby and the greenkeeper G Ridgen.  Professional course record holder was W F Muncey 69. Visitors’ fees were 1/6 a round, 2/6 a day, 10/6 a week and £1/5/0 a month. The station at Whistable (SE&C) was 5 minutes away.

The winners of the “Hawley Morgan” spoon competition played in February 1923; Senior Division, S V Strange (16) 4down; Junior Division, Heathfield Young (18) 4down.

In 1930 the secretary was H F Brown, “Jadene” Church Road, Whistable the professional was A Friend and the greenkeeper G Rigden. 9-holes with a membership of 150. Professional course record holder A Friend 67.

Whitstable & Seasalter is the current club and appears from the late 1930s.
