The above report continues – “When the golf links are ready, “lovely Lulworth” will be one of the best winter resorts in England. The golf links will be formed in the coming winter. A meeting was held on 21 August under the chairmanship of Mr H Blundell Wold, representing the owners of the estate, at which a committee was elected. The committee subsequently fixed a very low annual subscription and appointed Dr A P Trinder honorary secretary of the West Lulworth Links. The money for laying out the links is being raised by donation among the local gentry and a few of the visitors.”

Report from the Belfast News-Letter Tuesday 29 September 1896 - "A links has just been laid out Lulworth Cove, Dorset, by Tom Dunn. Some of the holes are vert picturesque and sporting, being close to the cliffs. The last five holes are very long ranging from 500 to 600 yards. The turf is excellent".
