Shepton Mallet Golf Club, Somerset. (1890s - 1908)
In the mid 1890s the Shepton Mallett course was at Sheep Sleight in Doulting. It was a 9-hole course with a par of 36, hazards were mainly ditches and hedges. Shepton Mallett railway station was one mile away, with transport available, presumably pony and trap, the fare was 6d per person.
The club became Mendip Golf Club in 1908.
