Portmarnock Golf Club, Dublin. (1850s - 1890s)
The first private course was laid out on the north end of the peninsula in the late 1850s on land owned by the Jameson family who lived in a large house called St Marnocks. The Jameson’s had moved from Scotland and founded a distillery in Dublin in 1871.
John Jameson agreed to lease land on the southern end of the peninsula and Portmarnock Golf Club was created in 1894.
