Ardfert Golf Club, County Kerry. (1896 - 2015)
The original eighteen-hole course was founded in 1896/7 at Ardfert Abbey. The course was reduced to 12-holes in the early 1900s.
This club closed prior to WW1.
Ardfert Golf Club reappeared in 1993.
The undulating nine-hole parkland course was situated in the historic village of Ardfert. The course had good greens, a variety of trees and many water features. The clubhouse has both ladies and gents changing facilities.
The 170 members were notified of the closure of the club on Facebook, as follows;
“It is with great sadness and regret we have to inform you that Ardfert Golf Club trading as Ardfert Golf Centre will cease trading on 31.12. 2015. We wish to thank you for all your support over the last 22 years.”
The opening of the course in September 1993.
