Irish Independent Monday 31 July 2000 – “Delvin Castle Golf Club in Delvin, Westmeath, will host an Intermediate Scratch Cup competition on Sunday 6 August for handicaps 10 – 18. The entry fee is £8 for visitors and £5 for members. The course is in exceptional condition and bar and catering facilities are available.”

The following message appeared on the club Facebook page in December 2016 – “To all our members, friends and families of the golf club we thank you for your support over the last number of years, it is now a difficult time for all involved, for you the members that have lost the place that you socialised, built your life around and made lifelong friends. There are no winners in this situation, we were all in this together but unfortunately all good things must come to an end, thanks to all those on committees - a thankless job, and especially to the staff I have worked with and that have worked for me in my time at Delvin; Arthur, Dale, Jamie, Una, Anne, Mary, Shannon. Daniel, I wish you all the best Xmas you can ever have, I hope you enjoyed our time at Delvin Castle and take away the great memories that we built together. You the members are a great bunch of people, we laughed together, and cried together. It has been my great pleasure to bring what I could to the journey that was Delvin Castle Golf Club. I hope that myself and all the staff made the last 4 years as best as we possibly could for you and hope that you all follow your golfing dreams. Wishing you all and your families the healthiest and happiest Christmas. thank you for everything over the last few years, thanks for the great memories - No regrets.
