Report from the Aberdeen Press and Journal Tuesday 13 June 1893 - "Nethy Bridge New Golf Course - Golf players will be glad to learn that the recently formed Abernethy Golf Club have now succeeded in attaining possession of an excellent nine-hole course, which (local players say) it "will be difficult to equal in any inland district of broad Scotland." The course stretches along the right bank of the Spey, on the farm of Balliemore, the first teeing ground being five' minutes walk form Broomhill Station of the Highland Railway, and within a mile of Nethy Bridge. The formal opening will take place about the end of this month, when it is expected the verandah, etc., will be completed. The president of the club is Rev. Dr Forsyth, and the secretary, James Cameron, Mains of Culreach."
