In October 1890 members of the Annandale Golf Club competed for Captain Alexander Rogerson’s silver medal. Donald Stewart, schoolmaster, won with a score of 93 net.

On Saturday April 11th 1891 an interesting foursome took place between D McJerrow, Fairfield, and P Malcolm, Townhead, against James Halliday, Greenbank, and Mr Prophit jun., Kirkconnel Hall. In the first round McJerrow and Malcolm were three holes up, but in the second Halliday and Prophit had the advantage by two holes, the former couple winning by one hole.

On Saturday7th November 1891 the competition for the Rogerson medal took place. Owing to extensive drainage operations, the course was more difficult than usual, but the putting greens were in “fair order.” Donald Stewart beat Beat James Halliday in the final by 2&1.

It was announced in the Glasgow Herald on Friday 2nd November 1900 that the death occurred suddenly of John H Dobie of Broombush, who, was just last Saturday, appointed captain of the Annandale Golf Club.

From the 1905 Nisbet’s Golf Yearbook; Annandale Golf Club; Instituted 1889; Membership of 60; Hon. Secretary – J Miller, Margaretta, Lockerbie; Captain – Col. R D Eliott Lockhart; Entrance Fee nil and Subs 15s; Nine-holes; Amateur Record – R J Ritchie, 42; Terms for visitors, 6d a day, 1s/6d a week, 3s/6d a month. The course is one of nine-holes and embraces an area of about 25 acres. It is situated at Broomhouses.

It eventually became Lockerbie Golf Club which is still going strong.
