Rock Park Golf Club, Llandrindod Wells, Powys. (1906 - 1950s)

Founded in 1906 when the secretary was M F Jephcott, Hill Crest, Llandrindod Wells and the professional F Betts. A 9-hole course. Visitors’ fees were 1/6d a day, 5/- a week and 21/- a month. The station at Llandrindod Wells was ¼ mile away. Local hotel was Ye Wells which was the hotel nearest to the golf links and pump rooms and baths.

The next appearance for Rock Park Golf Links was 1922. The 9-hole course adjoined the Rock Park Spa. The professional was still F Betts. The course record was 74. Visitors’ fees were 1/6d a day, 5/- a week and 15/- a month.

The May 1937 spoon competition was won by Vernon Jones, runner-up was I Harris.

From 1940 to the club’s disappearance in the mid 1950s, the Rock Park Golf Club telephone number was 206. The secretary was T Tunnicliffe. The professional and greenkeeper was E Howells. The 9-hole course had a SSS of 34 and a membership of 60. Visitors’ fees were 2/- a day, 7/6d a week and 15/- a month. Station at Llandrindod ¼ mile.
